China has called on the United States to immediately withdraw planned tariffs of up to 100 per cent on imported drones. The tariffs, signed by President Donald Trump on August 13, target drones weighing more than 25kg, those with thermal imaging technology, and models containing specific critical components. These measures are scheduled to take effect on September 3.

He further warned that the tariffs would harm Chinese companies and disrupt the global drone supply chain.
Customs data indicates that shipments of some drone models to the US plunged in July, suggesting that exports are already under pressure. Beijing also denied US allegations that Chinese exporters have been evading duties.
