The ceremony took place on August 11, marking exactly ten years since the couple first met at a Gucci store in Madrid. Following the home ceremony, the family traveled to the pilgrimage site of Fatima, where a priest provided a church blessing in a small chapel.

Both partners wore custom Gucci clothing for the occasion. Rodríguez noted that while she dreamed of a fairytale wedding as a child, she now values privacy over luxury. The couple did not take a honeymoon, as they returned to Riyadh the following day for Ronaldo to begin the new season with his club, al-Nassr. During the interview, the 41 year old Ronaldo suggested that this may be his final year as a professional footballer, stating that he wishes to spend more time with his family and travel.
