Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Deutsche Bank has reached an out of court settlement with former investment banker Dario Schiraldi to end a 152 million euro lawsuit. The Frankfurt Regional Court canceled a hearing scheduled for Thursday, September 10, after the plaintiff withdrew the claim. While the bank did not disclose the specific terms of the confidential agreement, a spokesperson stated that the settlement will have only a small financial effect in the third quarter of 2026.

Schiraldi sought damages in the hundreds of millions of euros for career losses resulting from a criminal trial in Italy. The dispute stemmed from complex 2008 derivative trades between Deutsche Bank and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena. In 2019, six employees were convicted in Italy of aiding in balance sheet falsification and market manipulation. All defendants were later acquitted in a 2022 appeal.

According to court documents, Schiraldi alleged that the bank used a questionable accounting method and then positioned him as a scapegoat when regulators and the press intervened. Deutsche Bank has repeatedly denied these allegations, describing the claims as unfounded and the demanded losses as unrealistic.

This is one of several legal challenges facing the bank. Four similar lawsuits remain pending in London with a combined value of over 600 million pounds, or approximately 700 million euros. The bank has already reached a settlement with a sixth former employee.
