The draw for the second round of the DFB Pokal took place on Saturday evening at the German Football Museum in Dortmund. Defending champions Bayern Munich will host second division side 1. FC Magdeburg. The matches for the round of 32 are scheduled for October 27 and 28. For the first time since the 2008/09 season, all 18 Bundesliga clubs advanced past the opening round. This resulted in several top flight matchups, including Borussia Dortmund against Werder Bremen, Hamburger SV against Eintracht Frankfurt, 1. FC Köln against Union Berlin, and SC Paderborn against VfB Stuttgart.
