Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Director Hong Sang-soo and actor Kim Min-hee won awards at the 79th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland on Saturday. Hong received the award for best direction for his 35th feature film, "Nowhere to Lay My Eyes." The film follows a character named Sang-hee, played by Kim, who travels to Jeju Island to find her divorced mother after ten years. Kim also won the best performance award for her role in the Italian drama "Kettice," sharing the honor with Italian actress Monica Bellucci. This marks the fifth time Hong has been invited to the festival. His previous wins include the best director award for "Our Sunhi" in 2013 and the Golden Leopard prize for "Right Now, Wrong Then" in 2015. Kim previously won the best performance award for her role in Hong's 2024 film "By the Stream."
