- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

South Korean director Lee Chang-dong has won the Auteur Award at this year's Mill Valley Film Festival, according to Netflix. Lee is the first Korean director to receive the award, which recognizes his accomplishments and unique cinematic world. His latest feature, "Possible Love," has been invited to the festival's Spotlights Program in San Francisco next month. The film has also been invited to compete in the main competition section of the Venice International Film Festival. This honor follows Lee's recent achievement as the first Korean to win the TIFF Ebert Director Award, a lifetime achievement honor from the Toronto International Film Festival.
