A million dollar diamond collier was stolen from the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) in Vienna during a smash and grab robbery. Two men entered the museum as regular visitors and used a hammer to break the security glass of a vitrine containing a 1939 piece commissioned by Queen Nazli of Egypt. The thieves fled toward the Stadtpark; police are currently searching for them using surveillance footage. While the piece was purchased for 4.3 million dollars in 2015, experts suggest the current resale value of the individual diamonds may be around 500,000 euros.
