- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Every source for this story reports from South Korea.
Doosan Enerbility Co. a South Korean plant builder, announced Friday that it has won a 930 billion won contract to build a combined cycle gas power plant in Oman. The project, located west of the capital city of Muscat, is known as the Misfah power plant and is scheduled for completion in April 2029. The facility will have a generation capacity of 1,600 megawatts.
Doosan Enerbility will form a consortium with SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction Co. a Chinese engineering and construction firm, to handle the engineering, procurement, and construction work. Doosan Enerbility will also supply generators and steam turbines for the project. The contract was awarded by a consortium of global developers that includes Oman's Bahwan Infrastructure Services, Qatar's Nebras Power, and a utility company from the United Arab Emirates.
Lee Hyun-ho, head of Plant EPC BG at Doosan Enerbility, stated that the company's previous experience in the Middle East helped secure the deal. The company has previously expanded its gas fired combined cycle power plant construction through projects in Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
