- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

An Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has claimed over 2,000 lives and infected more than 4,300 people, marking one of the fastest growing outbreaks ever recorded. The virus has spread to six provinces, including the epicenter in Ituri, as well as North Kivu, South Kivu, Haut-Uélé, Tshopo, and Bas-Uélé. World Health Organization Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned that the current crisis has the potential to surpass the 2014 to 2016 West African epidemic, which remains the deadliest in history with approximately 11,000 deaths. The outbreak is caused by the Bundibugyo strain, for which there is currently no approved vaccine or validated treatment. While the government officially announced the outbreak on May 15, reports indicate the virus may have begun circulating as early as January or February. Health authorities are particularly concerned about the potential spread to the capital, Kinshasa, which has a population of 19 million. Although the Ministry of Health has prepared isolation facilities at Cinquantenaire Hospital, the WHO suggests that several thousand beds would be necessary in a worst case scenario. The spread of the virus has been exacerbated by large scale population movements and insecurity in eastern regions where the M23 rebel group controls several territories. International response efforts have faced challenges, with only half of the 518 million dollars required for the continental response currently unlocked.
