Elon Musk's super PAC, America PAC, has disclosed spending approximately $800,000 to support Republican candidates in close midterm races. According to Federal Election Commission filings, the expenditures occurred in August and primarily covered printing costs for direct voter outreach. The spending targets congressional contenders across several states, including Senate races in Maine, Texas, Iowa, New Hampshire, Michigan, and Ohio, as well as House races in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
The largest portion of the spending, totaling more than $247,000, supported Texas Attorney General and Senate candidate Ken Paxton. This follows recent activity on X where America PAC targeted Paxton's Democratic opponent, James Talarico. Musk has already contributed over $50 million to America PAC and provided $10 million each to the primary Republican super PACs for the House and Senate, along with $10 million to a super PAC focused on Kentucky's Senate race.
This activity represents a reengagement with Republican politics following a period of public disagreement between Musk and Donald Trump. The PAC intends to help Republicans maintain their majorities in the House and Senate by defending current seats and attempting to flip districts held by Democrats.
