Former bureaucrat Ashish Joshi was detained and questioned by the Delhi Police on Wednesday. According to reports, Joshi was picked up from Nehru Park during a morning walk and taken to the counter-intelligence unit office in New Friends Colony. He was questioned for between eight and nine hours in connection with a case registered by the special cell. Police officers, speaking on the condition of anonymity, stated that Joshi was brought in for routine questioning after links emerged during an investigation. They noted that he cooperated with the process and was dropped home in the evening. Joshi later confirmed on X that he had returned home after being dropped off by the Delhi Special Cell. Joshi is a retired Group A officer of the Indian Posts and Telecommunications, Accounts and Finance Service. He previously faced suspension in 2019 following a social media post regarding Kapil Mishra. Additionally, a post made by Joshi on August 13 regarding the government response to Jantar Mantar protests was withheld in India due to a legal demand.
