Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The Federal Reserve decided to keep interest rates unchanged in a nine to three vote, maintaining the target corridor between 3.5 and 3.75 percent. Following this decision, a press conference by Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh coincided with a decline in stock markets and an increase in bond yields. The S&P 500 fell 1.5 percent, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 2.2 percent, and the Nasdaq Composite decreased 1.7 percent. Yields on 30 year US government bonds rose to 5.22 percent, which is the highest level since 2007.
Warsh stated that there is no soft inflation target and defined price stability as two percent inflation; however, core inflation currently stands at 3.3 percent. He suggested that rising bond yields might have already increased financing costs in the economy, potentially reducing the need for a near term rate hike. Warsh also noted the growth of investments related to artificial intelligence.
White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett expressed full confidence in Warsh and stated that he does not believe markets are in bubble territory due to AI. Reports from a center perspective highlight the confidence of the White House and the stability of markets regarding AI, while reports from a center right perspective emphasize market volatility and uncertainty over the Federal Reserve's approach to inflation.
