  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

At least 16 people died and 10 others were evacuated following a fire at the El Edén nursing home in Pitrufquén, located in the La Araucanía region of Chile. The fire broke out around 10:30 p.m. on Friday night at the facility situated at kilometer 21 of Route S-70 in the Villa Comuy sector. Seven fire companies and emergency medical teams responded to the scene. The Municipality of Pitrufquén has declared three days of communal mourning, during which flags will fly at half mast and official festive activities are suspended. The municipality has also announced it will provide care for the survivors in specially equipped shelters.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the blaze and the administrative status of the facility. Francisco Ljubetic, the presidential delegate of La Araucanía, stated that officials are reviewing whether the home possessed the necessary sanitary permits. He noted that previous inspections had resulted in fines for regulatory infractions and that a pending complaint from 2025 regarding the alleged mistreatment of residents was under processing. Investigators are also examining the professional qualifications of the staff on duty during the fire. Carabineros have taken a statement from the person responsible for the home in the capacity of an accused party. The judicial investigation is being led by the Labocar and OS-9 units of Carabineros under the direction of the Fiscalía de la Araucanía.

Cardinal Fernando Chomali, the archbishop of Santiago, described the event as a national shame. He cited the incident as evidence of the brutal abandonment and precarious conditions facing many elderly people in Chile. While center-right sources focused heavily on the legal investigations into permits and the specific administrative failures of the home, center-left coverage provided a more concise report of the casualties.
