Five Jailed After Kidnap Victim Escapes Through Window in Lincoln

Five people have been sentenced to prison after a man jumped from a first floor window to escape his kidnappers. The victim was lured to a property in Market Rasen on 4 July 2025 due to personal matters linked to a past relationship breakdown. According to Lincolnshire Police, the man was repeatedly assaulted, threatened, humiliated, and tormented while his captors filmed the abuse on mobile phones and laughed. After being held overnight, he was driven in an Isuzu pickup truck to a house in Lincoln. At 11.23 am, the man leaped from a window into a tree and ran into the street, where he flagged down a passing police car. Police stated that the presence of the marked vehicle may have saved his life.

At Lincoln Crown Court on 28 August, Brad'Lee Ranyard, 20, and Jackson Nicholson, 25, were both jailed for nine years for kidnap and false imprisonment. Nicholson was also convicted of possessing a bladed object in public. Craig Ranyard, 42, received five years and three months for false imprisonment. Danielle Thompson, 38, was sentenced to four years and nine months, and Nathan Gladwell, 36, was jailed for three years and seven months for false imprisonment. Det Con Liam Henderson described the ordeal as sustained and deeply distressing, praising the victim for his remarkable courage.
