  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

Flamengo defeated Independiente del Valle 2 to 0 in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals on Thursday, October 10, at the Estadio Olimpico Atahualpa in Quito, Ecuador. Bruno Henrique and Leo Pereira scored the goals, both in the second half. The result gives the Brazilian club a significant advantage for the return leg on Thursday, September 17, at the Maracana, where Flamengo can lose by one goal and still advance to the semifinals. A two goal defeat would lead to a penalty shootout. The winner of this series will face either Corinthians or Estudiantes in the next round.

Independiente del Valle dominated much of the first half, controlling possession and creating the most dangerous chance when Carlos Gonzalez hit the post. Flamengo struggled with the altitude of Quito, which is 2,850 meters above sea level. Leo Pereira later described playing in these conditions as horrible. Flamengo's first goal came in the 15th minute of the second half after a play involving Jorginho and Samuel Lino, which Bruno Henrique finished. Leo Pereira added the second goal following a cross from Emerson Royal.

Before the return leg, Flamengo will play Corinthians in the Brazilian Championship on Sunday, October 13. In other Libertadores action, Palmeiras defeated LDU 1 to 0 and Fluminense beat Platense 2 to 0. Additionally, reports from a center right outlet noted that Flamengo midfielder Erick Pulgar has reportedly declined a call up to the Chilean national team to focus on his club duties.
