Flávio Bolsonaro Outlines Presidential Goals and STF Criticism During São Paulo Events

Presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro stated during a lunch with business leaders in the Mooca district of São Paulo that he intends to enter history even if it is as a transition president. Speaking alongside São Paulo Governor Tarcísio de Freitas and Mayor Ricardo Nunes, Bolsonaro described Brazil as currently needing to cross a rough sea. During the event, Bolsonaro committed to appointing four ministers to the Supreme Federal Court (STF) who would respect the Constitution. He specified that these appointees would be opposed to abortion and drugs. Governor Tarcísio de Freitas noted in a separate interview that Bolsonaro had committed to a single term by filing a constitutional amendment proposal to end re-election.

Bolsonaro expressed strong criticism of the STF, stating that he looks at the court with disgust and claiming that things happen with impunity there. He argued that the only way to achieve change is through a new president and a new bench of senators. He further claimed that if President Lula is re-elected, he will appoint four more ministers who will persecute the population.

Earlier in the day, Bolsonaro visited the São Miguel market with Mayor Ricardo Nunes, where he used a piece of picanha meat to criticize Lula. This visit was met with protests from dozens of demonstrators. Some protesters held signs questioning the location of 61 million reais in reference to a payment made to the film Dark Horse, while others targeted Governor Tarcísio de Freitas with accusations regarding police violence and the state of São Paulo.

The event with business leaders was attended by approximately 450 people and featured traditional foods including pão com mortadela. Bolsonaro praised Governor Tarcísio de Freitas as one of the best members of former President Jair Bolsonaro's team, citing his results at the Ministry of Infrastructure.
