Climate forecasts indicate that the current El Nino event could become one of the strongest on record. China has forecasted the strongest El Nino event as sea temperatures rise. Some climatologists suggest that the 2026 to 2027 event provides a preview of global temperatures expected by the late 2030s. Specifically, predictions suggest that 2027 global temperatures could reach levels not typically expected until 2037 or 2040 due to the combination of El Nino and greenhouse gas emissions.
