Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Former Delhi Chief Secretary Rakesh Mehta, a 1975 batch IAS officer, died by suicide at his residence in Noida on Sunday. Police reported that the 75 year old official was found dead in his home at Kendriya Vihar II. A suicide note was recovered from the scene in which Mehta attributed his decision to prolonged illness. Police further noted that he suffered from hypertension and diabetes.

Family members, including his wife and son who reside in Dehradun, alerted security after their phone calls went unanswered. A security guard subsequently discovered the body. The body was handed over to the family following a post mortem examination, and he was cremated at the Lodhi Road crematorium on Monday.

During his career, Mehta served as the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for three years and became chief secretary in 2007. He retired in November 2010, having overseen the administration during the 2010 Commonwealth Games. He was credited with executing key civic infrastructure projects, including power privatization and transport reforms. Police stated that further investigation is underway.
