Germany Faces Wave of Attacks on Critical Infrastructure Amid Rising Tensions with Russia

Germany has experienced a series of attacks targeting critical infrastructure, including energy facilities, the rail network, and defense contractors. Recent incidents include an attempted attack on the power supply near the Jänschwalde coal plant in Brandenburg, a disruption at a substation near Cologne, a grenade explosion near a railway station in Augsburg, and incendiary devices thrown at a construction site in Munich. Chancellor Friedrich Merz previously remarked that Germany is no longer at peace, but is not yet at war.
