Google announced the release of Gemini 3.7 Flash on Thursday, August 13, just three weeks after the launch of Gemini 3.6 Flash. The new model is designed as a workhorse for coding, software engineering, and agentic workflows, with a specific focus on multi step planning and enterprise automation. Google reports that the model is more capable of debugging, resolving software issues, and generating production ready code. According to company benchmarks, Gemini 3.7 Flash scored 43.6 percent on FrontierCode 1.1 Main compared to 34.4 percent for version 3.6, and 65.3 percent on DeepSWE v1.1 compared to 49 percent for the previous version.
Beyond coding, the model shows improvements in processing complex documents and business workflows. It scored 34 percent on the GDP.pdf benchmark, up from 22 percent, and 30.4 percent on AutomationBench, up from 17 percent. The model is also being used to power Gemini Spark, a personal AI agent for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers that integrates with Google Workspace tools. Gemini 3.7 Flash is available via API, AI Studio, and Antigravity, though it is not yet available on the web chatbot or mobile apps.
Google has introduced the model at an introductory price of 0.75 dollars per million input tokens and 3.75 dollars per million output tokens, which is half the cost of the 3.6 Flash model. These prices are set to increase on January 1, 2027. This pricing strategy is seen as a move to compete with lower cost models, including those from Chinese developers such as DeepSeek V4 Pro. While the Flash models are updating rapidly, some reports note that the Gemini Pro line has not seen a major update since February 2026.
