Gurugram Police Launch Probe After Video Shows Car Ramming Woman Biker

Gurugram Police have registered a first information report and launched a suo motu investigation after a viral video showed a car ramming into a woman biker on Golf Course Road on Sunday, September 13, 2026. The victim, identified as Sia, who runs the Instagram page rebelwheels_sia_, captured the incident on an action camera mounted to her Aprilia RS 457. Sia alleged that occupants of a white sedan chased her and her biking group, behaved aggressively, and appeared to be drunk. She stated that despite her efforts to maintain distance and a friend's attempt to shield her, the car swerved and hit her motorcycle from the side, throwing her to the ground and sending the bike sliding several metres. One of her friends reportedly confronted the driver at a traffic signal, but the driver denied responsibility and fled the scene.

The owner of the vehicle, identified as Manish, stated that he is an Army employee currently posted in Assam and was at work during the incident. He claimed that a friend from Palwal, Haryana, named Kalyan Singh, had borrowed the car two days prior and that Manish only learned of the crash on Monday morning. In a separate statement to India Today TV, the accused driver denied intentionally ramming the rider, claiming that two bikers had repeatedly overtaken him and slowed down. He stated that he was unaware the rider was a woman and expressed regret for her injuries.

Gurugram Police officials confirmed that an FIR has been registered and that teams are conducting raids to arrest the accused. While some social media users alleged that the police were slow to act due to the accused having high level connections, the police denied these claims and assured that the strictest legal action would be taken. Sia has stated she intends to file a formal complaint with her lawyer while requesting that her face and full identity remain private.
