HD Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering, the intermediate holding company for HD Hyundai's shipbuilding businesses, has received approval in principle from the American Bureau of Shipping for a 100 megawatt barge-mounted power plant. The certification covers core technologies and designs, including the basic concept, stability assessment, and electrical single-line diagram. According to The Korea Herald, the facility utilizes HD Hyundai's medium-sized HiMSEN engines to generate electricity offshore.
