Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Heirs Life Assurance has appointed Pastor Jerry Eze as an Independent Non-Executive Director on its board, effective August 10, 2026. The company stated that the appointment is intended to strengthen consumer trust, accelerate insurance adoption, and expand financial inclusion in Nigeria, where insurance penetration remains below one percent.

Pastor Jerry Eze is the founder and lead pastor of Streams of Joy International Ministry, which operates 34 branches across North America, Europe, Southern Africa, and West Africa. He also convenes the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declaration (NSPPD), a digital prayer platform that reaches millions of people daily. Additionally, Eze founded the Jerry Eze Foundation to provide housing support and grants to underserved communities, including a 2026 announcement of N1 billion in grants for young entrepreneurs in technology, manufacturing, and agriculture.

Prior to his full time ministry, Eze worked in development communications as a specialist for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and a World Bank HIV/AIDS programme. He holds a bachelor's degree in History and International Relations from Abia State University and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from Enugu State University of Science and Technology.

Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Life Assurance, praised Eze for his integrity and influence, noting that his insight will help the company protect the financial future of millions of Nigerians. Eze stated that he is honored to join the board and believes that financial security empowers individuals and businesses to pursue their aspirations with resilience.

Heirs Life Assurance is one of three insurance businesses under Heirs Holdings, alongside Heirs Insurance Brokers and Heirs General Insurance. Together, these businesses serve more than three million people.
