Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Brazilian table tennis player Hugo Calderano finished in second place at the WTT Champions in Macau on Sunday, October 13. He was defeated 4 sets to 1 by Sweden's Truls Moregardh, who had previously eliminated Calderano in the semifinals of the Paris 2024 Olympics. Moregardh took an early 2 to 0 lead in the final, though Calderano won the third set 11 to 3 before Moregardh secured the title.

Calderano currently holds the seventh position in the world rankings. By reaching the final, he defends important points to maintain this ranking, repeating a second place finish from the 2025 Macau event. Maintaining a top position is considered crucial for the path to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. Calderano has remained among the top 10 players in the world since November 2018.

To reach the final, Calderano defeated Japan's Sora Matsushima, the world number 3, with a score of 4 to 2 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, he defeated Sweden's Anton Kallberg without losing a set. Recent absences due to injury of world number 1 Wang Chuqin and number 2 Felix Lebrun may have influenced the tournament path. Calderano is currently in a period of recovery this season, having won the Star Contender in São José dos Campos in late July and joining the German club Saarbrücken.
