Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was returned to Adiala jail on Friday morning after a brief medical examination that sparked a dispute over the government's adherence to a Supreme Court order. The court had directed authorities to transfer Khan to Shifa International Hospital, a private facility, by midnight on Thursday. However, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated that Khan was instead taken to the government run Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) due to security concerns created by supporters of Khan's party, the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI).
