Indonesian authorities have seized 2.6 tonnes of liquid methamphetamine hidden on a Tanzanian flagged vessel in a major drug bust. The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and customs officials intercepted the MV Rain Maker, which was sailing under a fake name, late Monday near Bengkalis in Riau province. The narcotics were discovered stored in a water tank and eight water barrels. Additionally, sniffer dogs located more than 1.5 million illegal cigarettes on board. Authorities arrested 10 crew members, all of whom are Myanmar nationals. The BNN stated that the operation followed intelligence that a vessel sailing from Sarawak, Malaysia, through the Andaman Sea might be transporting narcotics to Indonesia.
