Robert Moreno, the newly appointed interim head coach of the South Korean men's national football team, is scheduled to arrive in South Korea on Sunday. The Korea Football Association (KFA) announced on Wednesday that Moreno will be available to the media upon his arrival at Incheon International Airport late Sunday morning.

Hired on September 1 along with a five man backroom staff, Moreno will lead the Taegeuk Warriors through their next six international friendlies. The team is scheduled to host Ecuador on September 24, Uruguay on September 28, Venezuela on October 2, and Uzbekistan on October 6. The KFA is currently attempting to schedule two additional matches during the FIFA match window from November 9 to 17.

On Monday, Moreno will hold a press conference at Korea Football Park in Cheonan to announce the squad for the September and October matches. Moreno, 48, previously coached the Spain men's national team and served as an assistant for FC Barcelona and Luis Enrique.

Moreno replaces Hong Myung bo, who resigned in late June following South Korea's group stage elimination at the FIFA World Cup. The KFA chose a temporary coach to avoid rushing a full time appointment. While Moreno is signed through November 27, the KFA stated he may remain for the Asian Football Confederation Asian Cup in January depending on the team's performance in the upcoming matches.
