Israel Orders Evacuation of Southern Lebanon Village Amid Ceasefire

The Israeli military issued a forced evacuation order on Wednesday for the residents of Al Mansuri, a municipality in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon. The order requires residents to move at least 1,000 meters north toward open terrain for their own safety. This action occurred despite an active ceasefire and ongoing efforts to reach a final agreement to end hostilities. Following the order, the Israel Defense Forces announced a wave of attacks in the area.

Israeli military spokespeople stated the measure was taken in response to violations of the agreement by Hezbollah. They clarified that the order is not intended to harm civilians, noting that anyone near Hezbollah targets or combat facilities puts their own life at risk. These events coincide with a seventh round of talks in Rome, Italy, aimed at implementing a framework agreement reached in late June. Combat between Israeli forces and Hezbollah had previously resumed on March 2, following an offensive by the United States and Israel against Iran.

Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem criticized the ongoing dialogue, which was scheduled to continue through Thursday. Qassem described the talks as a concession to those bombing the country and accused Lebanese President Joseph Aoun of being an ally to Israel, claiming the process risks the sovereignty and unity of the nation.
