  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

An Israeli citizen has been indicted on security offenses for allegedly carrying out activities on behalf of a foreign government, according to the State Prosecutor's Office, the Shin Bet, and the Israel Police. The individual was arrested a month ago upon landing at Ben Gurion Airport and was subsequently questioned regarding his connection to foreign intelligence operatives. Prosecutors have filed a request to keep the suspect in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings.

While both reports agree on the indictment, they differ in their framing of the activities. A center-right source frames the case as a threat to national security. A left-leaning source frames the incident as an influence campaign conducted by hostile actors.

The suspect's attorney, Ina Labdinsky-Katz, told Haaretz that her client never had access to security information and did not cause harm to state security. She noted that the suspect visited Israel only briefly every few years and was never asked for information related to Israel. The investigation was handled by a small team of police officers in coordination with the Central District prosecution office, with involvement from State Prosecutor Amit Aisman and Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara.

How each side framed it
