Israeli strikes in southern and eastern Lebanon on Friday night resulted in casualties after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) responded to a Hezbollah drone attack. Lebanese authorities updated the death toll to four people, including an 18 year old woman, and reported 32 wounded. Earlier reports had cited three deaths and 23 wounded. The IDF stated that the strikes targeted Hezbollah members, weapons depots, and infrastructure. The military reported that the drone targeting their troops in south Lebanon was intercepted and no Israeli soldiers were injured. A relative of one of the deceased told AFP that the victims were civilians and questioned the presence of military targets in the area. Hezbollah condemned the bombings in a statement. These events occur amid a broader conflict in which Lebanese authorities report more than 4,300 deaths caused by Israeli reprisals.
