U.S. based K pop girl group Katseye has achieved its first No. 1 spot on the U.S. Billboard 200 main albums chart. According to a Billboard preview published on Sunday, the group's third EP, "Wild," debuted at the top with 170,000 equivalent album units. The release outpaced Phoebe Bridgers' "Lost Weekend" and Stray Kids' "This & That," the latter of which fell to No. 3 with 82,000 units.

Katseye is the fourth female group to top the Billboard 200 since 2020, following Blackpink, NewJeans, and Twice. Of the total units for "Wild," album sales accounted for 145,000. The EP also performed strongly in the United Kingdom, debuting at No. 2 on the Official Albums Chart Top 100. In the UK, the song "Animal" reached No. 12, "Hootie Frutti" reached No. 16, and "Bel Air" reached No. 97 on the Official Singles Chart.

Formed through a partnership between Hybe and Geffen Records via the survival program "The Debut: Dream Academy," Katseye debuted in 2024. The album "Wild" was created with contributions from Hybe Chairman Bang Si hyuk, Ed Sheeran, Omer Fedi, and Blake Slatkin. The group has also earned a Grammy Award nomination for best new artist.
