Kayla White Wins Women's 200m as Amy Hunt Takes Second at Lausanne Diamond League

American Kayla White won the women's 200m at the Diamond League in Lausanne with a time of 22.18 seconds. Britain's Amy Hunt finished second in 22.32 seconds, beating Nigeria's Favour Ofili in a photo finish. Hunt entered the competition following a historic performance at the European Championships in Birmingham, where she became the first athlete to win four gold medals in a single edition, taking first place in the 100m, 200m, women's 4x100m relay, and mixed 4x100m relay. Hunt noted that she felt stiff and tired during her pre-meet preparations.

Other notable events in the 200m included former world champion Shericka Jackson pulling up with a leg injury and Brittany Brown failing to start. In the men's 200m, Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo won in 19.87 seconds, while Britain's Zharnel Hughes finished fifth.

Switzerland's Audrey Werro won the 800m on home soil in a meeting record time of 1 minute and 55.33 seconds. In the men's 800m, Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi took victory in 1:42.19. Additional meeting records were set by American Masai Russell in the 100m hurdles and Rai Benjamin in the 400m hurdles, the latter of whom beat a mark set by Edwin Moses in 1981. In the triple jump, Portugal's Pedro Pichardo won with 17.44 meters, while Italy's Andy Diaz Hernandez finished third.
