- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

The Keralam government has announced it will legally examine a request from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to register a First Information Report (FIR) against former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter T. Veena, and son in law P.A. Mohamed Riyas. The request relates to an alleged bribery case involving Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL) and the firm Exalogic Solutions. Chief Minister VD Satheesan stated that the state government will take action after examining the legal aspects of the communication, which cites section 66(2) of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The home department has reportedly sought legal advice from the Attorney General.
Reports indicate that the ED alleges Mohamed Riyas illegally amassed 20.5 crore rupees and diverted a portion to Dubai to establish a business unit. Mr. Riyas, a CPI(M) leader and Beypore MLA, has denied these claims on Facebook, calling them a fabricated story designed for character assassination. Former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has termed the ED request a shameful subversion of the criminal justice system for political motives, claiming he has been persecuted by federal agencies. He asserted that payments to his daughter's firm were for services rendered through proper digital channels and noted that Mr. Riyas was not married to his daughter at the time the transactions occurred.
Center left reporting emphasizes the timing of these allegations as the CPI(M) prepares for a state committee meeting to discuss recent election losses. In contrast, center right reporting focuses on the government's legal process and includes the Chief Minister's distinction between corporate political funding and the specific allegations in this bribery case.
How each side framed it
- Centre-left
- Framed the event as a politically motivated character assassination attempt coinciding with an internal party meeting.
- Centre-right
- Framed the event as a legal procedure being handled by the state government following evidence collected by the ED.
