- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has pledged to expand and deepen joint work with Moscow in a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the Korean Central News Agency, Kim expressed deep thanks to Putin for a congratulatory message marking North Korea's 78th founding anniversary on September 9. Kim stated that North Korea's will remains firm to expand cooperation in a comprehensive way based on friendship, good neighborliness, and alliance.
While Kim did not specify the exact nature of the joint work, reports indicate it likely refers to deepening military and economic cooperation. Kim noted that the two nations are writing a new biography of their alliance during an uneven historical storm and promised unwavering support for Russia in its war against Ukraine.
The two countries signed a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty in June 2024 during Putin's visit to Pyongyang. This treaty requires providing military assistance without delay if either side is attacked. Pyongyang has already sent conventional weapons and thousands of troops to Russia to support the war effort in Ukraine.
