A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck the department of Chocó on Friday, September 11, 2026. The Servicio Geológico Colombiano reported that the seismic event occurred at 11:42 a.m. with an epicenter located 27 kilometers from the municipality of Sipí. The tremor had a depth of 41 kilometers and was situated west of the Andes mountains.
