- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

The Public Ministry of Rio Grande do Norte has opened a civil inquiry to determine if the written exams for the State Penal Police and Penitentiary Assistance Specialist contest should be annulled. This follows the arrest of 12 people on September 13 for suspected fraud. In Natal, investigators believe third parties solved questions and transmitted answers via electronic devices. In Mossoró, candidates were allegedly using electronic earpieces. Among those detained was Ramon Aranha, a city councilor and vice president of the Chamber of Goiana, who claimed his phone alarm triggered the police intervention and denied using electronic points to cheat. The inquiry will also investigate whether the organizing body, Instituto Avalia, failed to use metal detectors at all testing sites.
In other legal developments, the Superior Court of Justice maintained the conviction of a businesswoman for stalking the stepson of a police delegate in Mato Grosso. The case gained attention after the delegate allegedly invaded the woman's home with armed officers without a warrant. Separately, the Regional Electoral Court of Paraíba ordered humorist Gustavo Mendes to remove a video mocking Senator Veneziano Vital. The court found the video could lead voters to believe the senator benefited a company through parliamentary amendments, while the humorist's defense argued the content was based on public facts.
Law enforcement also launched Operation Lívia across four states and the Federal District to combat cyber networks that blackmail children and adolescents. The operation follows the death of a 13 year old girl who allegedly committed suicide during a live stream on Discord after being coerced by online groups. The Ministry of Justice and the National Data Protection Authority are seeking explanations from Discord regarding safety failures.
In São Paulo, the city of Bauru used police to remove homeless individuals from abandoned train cars, citing security concerns and the use of the site as a hideout for thieves. While the mayor described the operation as a success for security and social welfare, opposition members from a center left perspective framed the action as social cleansing and hygienist. Meanwhile, the São Paulo State Civil Defense used boats to deliver food and water to the Teko Takuari indigenous village in Vale do Ribeira, which had been isolated by heavy rains.
In Teresina, police are investigating the murder of 22 year old Ellen Camila, who was shot and killed on September 13. Investigators are looking into a possible link between the victim, a suspect identified as Jojô, and organized crime factions. In Minas Gerais, passengers reported finding cockroaches on buses operated by Saritur, a company currently undergoing judicial recovery for debts totaling nearly 960 million reais.
