Nasa and SpaceX have completed the final launch readiness review for the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. The observatory is scheduled to launch on Sunday, June 30, at 7:26 a.m. Eastern Time from the Kennedy Space Center. The telescope will be carried by a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. According to the U.S. Space Force Delta 45 Weather Squadron, there is a 60 percent probability of favorable weather conditions for the takeoff.

The mission aims to investigate dark matter and dark energy, map billions of galaxies, and study black holes. The telescope is also expected to discover and characterize thousands of planets beyond our solar system. The project represents a 4.3 billion dollar investment.
