The Department of Education reported that nearly 7 million students were affected by school suspensions on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. According to the agency, a total of 6,756,868 learners across 10,671 public schools in eight regions were impacted. The suspensions were caused by the effects of the southwest monsoon, which was intensified by Tropical Storm Maymay and Tropical Depression Luis. Central Luzon recorded the highest number of suspended in person classes with 3,659 instances.
