- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Every outlet covering this story shares the same political lean; read with that in mind.
Nearly 700 people were evacuated from the Adriatic island of Brac, Croatia, during a massive wildfire that peaked on Saturday night. The blaze, which first started on Thursday near Lozisca, affected between 3,000 and 3,500 hectares of pine forest and scrubland. The situation became critical near the town of Milna on the island's western coast when strong sea winds caused the fire to spread rapidly on Saturday evening.
Emergency efforts involved hundreds of firefighters, four Canadair planes, and three AirTractor planes. The Croatian armed forces deployed the ship Omiš to assist with maritime evacuations from Osibova Bay. Evacuees were placed in a sports hall in Supetar and a community center in Postira. A group of 40 Hungarian citizens was among those evacuated from Milna, though the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported no injuries among its nationals.
Two injuries were reported. A 27 year old man was treated for smoke inhalation and released. A 76 year old Croatian woman was hospitalized in critical condition after she reportedly fell from a ship during the evacuation process. While authorities confirmed that some buildings were damaged, no deaths were reported. By Sunday morning, officials stated there were no more open fires, although teams remained on site to prevent reignition.
