Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has ended his 2026 season early after sustaining a ligament tear in his ankle during training. The 28 year old athlete announced the decision via a statement and an Instagram post on Saturday, noting that the decision followed discussions with his doctor and team. As a result, Chopra will miss the Diamond League Final and the Asian Games in Aichi Nagoya, Japan, which are scheduled to begin next month.

Chopra had recently competed in the Lausanne Diamond League, where he recorded a season best throw. He had previously competed in the Doha Diamond League in June and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where he earned a silver medal. His return to competition in June followed a nine month rehabilitation period after an injury in September 2025.

In his statement, Chopra expressed disappointment at the setback, stating that he felt he was gaining momentum and finding his rhythm. He noted that his current focus is on recovering and returning stronger. The injury sidelines him for the second time in a year, following previous struggles with lower back discomfort and a disc injury.
