New Cinema Releases Feature 'Minha Melhor Amiga' and 'Gonzaguinha, da Maior Liberdade'

The comedy 'Minha Melhor Amiga', starring real life friends Ingrid Guimarães and Mônica Martelli, has premiered in theaters. The film follows two best friends who travel to Europe to surprise their daughters during an exchange program in Portugal, experiencing a series of mishaps along the way. Also debuting this week is 'Gonzaguinha, da Maior Liberdade', a documentary that won an award at the Gramado Festival. This production explores the life of Luiz Gonzaga Jr. his relationship with his father, and the intersection of music and fame during a period of political repression. Additionally, Cinesesc is hosting another edition of the 'Amor ao Cinema' showcase, which includes both free and paid screenings of classic and unreleased films. Other international releases include 'George Washington', a biopic about the first US president; 'O Grande Arco de Paris', a film about an architecture competition in France; and 'Idiotas', a comedy involving a rebellious millionaire. The lineup also features the South Korean zombie film 'Minha Filha É um Zumbi', the documentary 'Não Existe Almoço Grátis' regarding solidarity kitchens in the Federal District, the WWII drama 'Pressão', and the Canadian adaptation of Goethe's work, '(Quase) O Amor da Minha Vida'. Finally, the horror film 'O Sorveteiro' is among the new arrivals.
