Nikolas Ferreira Responds to Leaked Messages with Businessman Daniel Vorcaro

Federal Deputy Nikolas Ferreira has addressed leaked audio and messages showing him requesting help from former banker Daniel Vorcaro to assist a former aide, Thiago Rodrigues de Faria, with the release of mining assets. In the audio, Ferreira asks Vorcaro to facilitate the process for Faria, whom he describes as a person of total trust. Ferreira later characterized these conversations as irrelevant and stated that he was merely acting as a bridge for a former staff member to conduct business.

Ferreira denied having a close friendship or business ties with Vorcaro, who has been accused of leading a financial fraud scheme. The deputy claimed he only obtained Vorcaro's contact through Pastor André Valadão and denied receiving any financial benefits or credit cards from Vorcaro's Banco Master. Additionally, Ferreira suggested that the timing of the leak is a political retaliation following his criticisms of the Supreme Federal Court.

Reports also mention a separate investigation regarding Ferreira's use of private jets linked to Vorcaro during the 2022 election campaign. While the Tribunal de Contas da União archived the case due to a lack of evidence of administrative irregularities, the matter was forwarded to the Electoral Court to investigate potential undeclared campaign donations. Ferreira has defended his actions by comparing the use of the aircraft to using a ride sharing service where the passenger does not vet the driver's history.
