  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Novo Nordisk has begun a new study to identify the minimum effective dose of its Wegovy weight loss pill that allows patients to continue losing weight. The trial, which started on August 12, involves 450 participants and will compare two unspecified low doses of the medication against a placebo. According to a U.S. government database, the study targets patients with a body mass index of at least 27, which falls under the World Health Organization's overweight category.

While many obesity studies focus on the highest possible doses to establish a benchmark, real world usage often involves lower doses due to side effects or patient preference. In the United States, the two lowest doses of the pill cost approximately half as much as the two highest doses for out of pocket payers. Analyst Evan Seigerman of BMO Capital Markets notes that more than two thirds of patients take the two lowest doses.

Novo Nordisk is currently competing with Eli Lilly in an obesity drug market that analysts predict will exceed 100 billion dollars in the United States alone by the end of the decade. The company has recently taken an aggressive stance in this market, including a lawsuit against Lilly for alleged misleading advertising.
