  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Nvidia has launched a joint initiative with six major Wall Street financial firms to attract more than 500 billion dollars from external investors for the construction of AI data centers. The partner firms include Apollo, Blackrock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs, and KKR. These firms will collect capital from institutional investors, insurance companies, and pension funds to build what Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang calls AI factories. This model aims to provide AI infrastructure to smaller labs and startups that cannot afford to build their own facilities, while also increasing the demand for Nvidia chips.

Under the agreement, the financial firms will evaluate the economic viability of each project. Nvidia will take on limited risk, potentially covering up to 25 percent of losses in certain cases. This approach shifts much of the financial risk away from Nvidia and toward external investors. This strategy is seen as an alternative to the funding methods used by hyperscalers like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft, and a move away from circular financing where Nvidia invests in customers who then use that money to buy Nvidia chips.

Outlets with a center lean frame the move as a show of financial strength intended to soothe investor anxiety regarding the AI boom. In contrast, a center right outlet frames the initiative as a way for Nvidia to distance itself from risky circular financing and shift potential losses to external investors amidst concerns of an AI bubble.
