Paraná Gubernatorial Candidate Requião Filho to be Interviewed by Folha and UOL

State Deputy Requião Filho, a candidate for governor of Paraná representing the PDT, will participate in a questioning session on Tuesday, October 11, at 12:30 p.m. The interview is part of a series promoted by Folha and UOL. It will last approximately one hour and will be led by journalist Fabíola Cidral with participation from Leonardo Sakamoto and Bruno Ribeiro. Other candidates for the Paraná governorship have also been invited: Senator Sergio Moro of the PL was interviewed on October 7, and Federal Deputy Sandro Alex of the PSD is scheduled for October 17.

Requião Filho, 46, is an attorney currently serving his third term as a state deputy. He has spent nearly 12 years in the legislature as a primary opposition figure to the governments of Beto Richa and Ratinho Junior. His political history includes a fifth place finish in the 2016 Curitiba mayoral race and a 2022 election to the Legislative Assembly where he ran with the PT and received 85,676 votes.

While he spent much of his career with the MDB, Requião Filho and his father, former governor Roberto Requião, joined the PT in 2022 to support President Lula. However, the relationship with the federal government soured after the election, leading both to join the PDT in 2025. Requião Filho later reconciled with the PT to form a broad left and center left coalition for his current gubernatorial bid, which includes the PV, PSOL, PC do B, Rede, PRD, and Solidariedade. His running mate for vice governor is former state deputy Michelle Caputo, and his Senate slate includes PT members Gleisi Hoffmann and Dr. Rosinha.

A Genial/Quaest poll from late July shows Sergio Moro leading with 39 percent of intention of vote, followed by Requião Filho at 18 percent. Rafael Greca, who had 12 percent in the poll, has withdrawn from the gubernatorial race to run as the vice gubernatorial candidate for the PSD.
