Penguin Random House India has denied allegations of external pressure regarding its decision not to publish Sonia Gandhi's memoir, titled Belonging: A Journey of Love. The publishing house stated that while they were keen on publishing the hard won acquisition, an impasse was reached over a particular issue during the normal editorial process. According to the publisher, the author's team ultimately decided not to proceed with the publication after an understanding could not be reached on that specific point.
