Pentagon Denies Reports of Pressure on F-15 Crew to Appear on 60 Minutes

The Pentagon has called a report a complete lie after CNN alleged that US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and his associates pressured two F-15 crew members to appear in a 60 Minutes episode regarding their rescue from Iran. According to the report, political officials in Hegseth's office initially insisted that both crew members participate in the interview. One crew member reportedly raised concerns that he could be ordered to take part, while military officials feared the segment could expose classified tactics while fighting with Iran was still ongoing.

CNN reported that Hegseth met privately with the two crew members to ask if they wanted to participate rather than forcing them. Following this meeting, one crew member agreed to be interviewed while the other declined. The report further alleged that Hegseth was unusually involved in production details to shape a public narrative of success during a war that has become less popular. Military personnel reportedly feared the segment was intended as a public relations tool for Hegseth and the Trump administration.

Pentagon chief spokesman Sean Parnell rejected the account entirely, stating that the story is completely false. Parnell asserted that the decision to participate was solely up to each pilot and that the department took precautions to protect operational security.
