- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro have identified and summoned streamer Jean Almeida Hilário, known as GH Rell RJ, following accusations of homophobia made by actor João Victor Gonçalves. The incident occurred on Friday, October 4, near the Cidade do Rock during Rock in Rio, and was broadcast live on the platform Kick. During the transmission, Hilário and his associates made comments regarding the actor's appearance and his red pants. Hilário was subsequently banned from the platform.
João Victor Gonçalves, who plays Mau Mau in the soap opera "Quem Ama Cuida," described the encounter as homophobia and stated he feared he was being robbed. In response, Hilário apologized for any mistakes but denied discriminatory intent. He further accused the actor of racism, questioning if the fear of robbery was based on his skin color. The police are now investigating both the allegations of homophobia against the streamer and the counter accusation of racism against the actor.
Actress Flávia Alessandra, a colleague of Gonçalves, publicly defended the actor, calling the incident deplorable and a crime. While a center-left source focused on the legal proceedings and the specific exchange of accusations between the two men, a center source framed the event through the lens of celebrity support and the broader social importance of discussing homophobia.
How each side framed it
- Centre-left
- Framed the event as a legal matter focusing on the police investigation and the conflicting accusations of hate crimes.
- Centre
- Framed the event as a moment of celebrity solidarity and a catalyst for discussing social issues.
