Police Investigate Wedding Dress Atelier in São Paulo After Production Halt and Client Protests

The Civil Police are investigating the wedding dress atelier My Vintage Dress in the Pinheiros neighborhood of São Paulo as a case of fraud. The investigation follows reports from numerous brides who paid for dresses but did not receive them by the agreed deadlines, leading to protests and a confrontation at the store. On Monday, October 31, a group of more than 50 people reportedly entered the establishment without authorization, an event the store owner described as an unauthorized collective entry. The Military Police were called to the scene on Tuesday, October 1, to manage the situation. Some clients reported paying significant sums, including one woman who paid 10,000 reais for two rented dresses, while others noted that the store had stopped responding to messages. The owner, Camila Rossi, and her lawyer, Thaís Brito, stated that the company faced production challenges due to an exceptional volume of orders and a desire to improve the quality of the pieces. The store has temporarily closed for new sales to focus on existing orders.
