- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

Pope Leo XIV celebrated his 71st birthday on Monday, September 14, during a visit to the Vatican Apostolic Library. During the event, the pontiff inaugurated a new exhibition titled "AQVA: Catastrophe and Wonder." The celebration included a two tier white cake covered in powdered sugar and sparkling wine. The Pope blew out a symbolic candle and met with staff from the library and the apostolic archive, who sang birthday songs in both Italian and Spanish. Pope Leo XIV, born Robert Francis Prevost in Chicago, was elected on May 8, 2025, as the first American leader of the Catholic Church. During the festivities, the Pope noted that divine providence brought him to the library on his birthday because his mother was a librarian.
